How the driller operates
Winch control moves to a joystick. Rotary table, mud pump, and other equipment move to a touchscreen in the integrated seats. The interface is graphical and the operations are process-oriented.

Electrical parameters, drilling measurements, travelling-block collision prevention and related interlocks, block speed and winch control, derrick lifting protection, tension warning, and top-drive collision and scratch prevention. Floor equipment named in the manual includes the power catwalk, drill-floor manipulator, power slips, iron roughneck, hydraulic cathead, and the second-floor manipulator.

Integrated instruments use a touchscreen to show parameters as numbers, graphics, or instrument faces, and store them in a database. A LAN can carry data between remote terminals at the wellsite and the drilling console.
