Grid Power at the Wellsite with SVG and TSF

SVG and TSF support reactive power and harmonics when the pad moves toward grid supply. The catalog names a high-voltage room beside them. No invented savings.

Grid Power at the Wellsite with SVG and TSF

SVG and TSF do not generate prime power, and they do not replace a diesel set by themselves. Grid or weak-grid pads often still need reactive support and harmonic management beside the high-voltage room and the drilling drives. The scope is site-specific. This note does not add a savings figure.

Taking a drilling rig off a diesel-generator set and onto an industrial grid is a power-source decision. It is not, by itself, a choice between SCR and VFD. The catalog treats the source change as its own scope, then names three pieces of equipment. This note stays inside that scope.

The product page is power supply control. The devices are also on SVG and TSF. The shorter solution page is power supply control of the drilling rig.

The source the catalog describes

The power supply system replaces diesel-generator power and uses the industrial grid directly as the source. The catalog describes that change as leading petroleum drilling in China into energy-saving, environmentally minded, and efficient operations. That sentence is the catalog's reason. It is not a measured fuel study, and this site does not add a fuel figure or a percentage to it.

Power management inside drilling rig electric drive can still be formed by diesel generator sets or by a high-voltage grid. Grid power control is the page that develops the grid side of that sentence: the room that receives the grid, and the two devices named for reactive power and harmonics.

Three items, and only three

The printed product scope is short on purpose.

Grid-power high-voltage room

The room brings industrial-grid power onto the drilling rig. The catalog names the room. It does not, on this spread, print a single-line diagram, a breaker schedule, or a incoming voltage that you can quote without the project file. When a mechanical rig is converted, the retrofit table does print incoming voltages and transformer sizes. Those rows belong to electrified retrofit, not to a blank SVG rating.

SVG

SVG is named as a reactive-power compensation and harmonic-suppression device. The words are the whole electrical claim the spread makes. There is no printed compensation kilovolt-ampere table, no harmonic order table, and no statement of a power factor target. If a project needs those numbers, they are a written confirmation, not a sentence this page is allowed to invent.

TSF

TSF is the second device in the same manual, with the same duty: reactive-power compensation and harmonic suppression. The catalog lists SVG and TSF side by side. It does not say that one is a spare for the other, and it does not say that both are always required. Listing both means both are in the product scope. The count for a given well is part of the written scope.

What "at the wellsite" does and does not mean

People use "wellsite power" for several different cabinets. On this site they stay separate.

The high-voltage room, the SVG, and the TSF are the grid-supply scope above. The MCC, by contrast, is auxiliary motors, lighting, and the power supply for areas of the wellsite. That MCC description is wellsite auxiliary power. The page says it is not a separate camp power plant. An SVG is not that MCC, and the MCC page is not a harmonic study.

Drive cabinets remain the SCR or VFD scope in VFD and SCR for a drilling rig. A grid can feed either drive path. The catalog does not make SVG a substitute for the SCR unit or for the frequency inverters.

How the manual ties the change to drilling

The catalog places this power supply on the drilling rig and describes the move away from diesel generation as energy-saving, environmentally minded, and efficient for petroleum drilling. Read that as the manual's description of intent. The evidence this site will stand on is the equipment list: room, SVG, TSF. A buyer who needs a loss study, a harmonic scan, or a utility interconnection limit has to bring the utility conditions. The pages here do not store those conditions.

The page kept for an older hybrid address, in place of the diesel set, points back at this power-supply scope. It does not add storage. The manual's wellsite picture, which marks power supply beside the drives and motors, is the wellsite, as the manual draws it.

The same grid supply is named next to electrified retrofit, because a mechanical rig that leaves diesel-engine drive often needs a source as well as a drive. The retrofit note is mechanical-to-electric retrofit. Its sizing table is the place that prints transformer kilovolt-amperes for 40LDB, 50LDB, and 70LDB. Do not copy those transformer sizes onto an SVG as if they were compensation ratings. They are transformer rows on a different page.

What to send with an inquiry

A grid-power inquiry is usable when it names the utility voltage available at the lease, the rig, and whether diesel sets remain as a second source. It names whether the question is the high-voltage room, the SVG, the TSF, or the combination. It does not need a slogan about efficiency. Request consultation on this page sends that topic.

What this note refuses to add

There is no compensation rating hiding in the brochure text this site has published. There is no harmonic limit. There is no claim that every wellsite in a field uses the same room. There is no customer count. The photographs on the product pages show equipment in a dark industrial setting. They are not a single-line.

Use the product pages for the wording the catalog actually printed, and use a written reply for anything numerical that those pages left blank.

Questions buyers ask

What do SVG and TSF do at a wellsite?
The catalog names both as reactive-power compensation and harmonic suppression beside the grid-power high-voltage room. It does not say one replaces the other, and it does not print a compensation table. See power supply control and SVG and TSF.
Can SVG and TSF replace diesel generators?
No. They do not generate prime power. The catalog's source change is the industrial grid in place of diesel-generator power. SVG and TSF support that electrical interface. Whether a genset remains is a separate design choice.
Do I need SVG or TSF if I already have VFD drilling drives?
Drive loads and power quality are reviewed separately. The catalog does not make SVG a substitute for the frequency inverters. Review the high-voltage room, the supply, and the drive list. Drive choice itself is VFD vs SCR for drilling rig electric drive.
What information should I send for a wellsite SVG or TSF consultation?
Send the utility voltage at the lease, the rig, whether diesel sets remain, and whether the question is the high-voltage room, the SVG, the TSF, or the combination. Request a consultation. This page does not invent a savings figure or a harmonic limit.
Where can I see Hande SVG and TSF products?
On SVG and TSF and power supply control, and on power supply control of the drilling rig. Wellsite auxiliary power is the MCC for auxiliary motors and lighting. It is not the SVG.
